The night before weigh in…

And all through the house, no sweeties were eaten, not even a chocolate mouse….

And I do have some chocolate mice. I did eat some starburst though. There was less fat in them.

I’m now writing this on an iPod. So, apologies if the typing is worse than usual (good luck to the autocorrect figuring out what I’m trying to say!). This is because of a major wifi failure, which led to lots of trying to fix stuff, and resulted in my laptop and iPhone having a very long conversation (about 2 hours so far). I got bored and am in bed.

Obviously, the wifi is currently alive, or I wouldn’t be able to post this. We can’t have pictures though. Unless they’re from photostream. Hmmmm…. Just realised that hasn’t been working in ages and is now updating. I love technology!

Anyway, today’s big crisis was little person’s immunisations. All 3 of them! Very stressful for mammy, worried about having a 2 nearly 3 year old with us (last time he made a big scene). But it was ok. Big one read a story with me in the waiting room. Pretended to read it while watching them jab baby. Baby screamed. Then baby laughed at people watching him.

I gave him calpol (paracetamol) and he went to bed early, with only a breast feed. This is unprecedented, as even before the current weaning program (his teeth are too sharp, and bitey), he had an 8 oz bottle every night. Anyway, he seems to be ok. He never has medicine, so it’s possible that’s made him sleepy.

Sweeties were bought as rewards (yes, I bribe my toddler) and everyone survived.

But I should be sleeping… And I’m not. Quite frankly, I’m dreading tomorrow. Well, it has to be done! Let’s just see how bad it is, then I can start again. Repeat 500 times, ‘I will lose weight’.

Off course, of course

So, I’ve been quiet for a little bit. I put 1lb back on, and have been off track ever since. Am now actually worried about getting weighed on Wednesday. Never mind! Tomorrow is another day.

One of the reasons for my naughty eating habits this weekend has been my house. It’s having a birthday next year, it’ll be 100. And it needed a repaint (outside) and a boundary wall repairing. So we thought. A couple of days work. So we thought.

So, we packed off the kids, my dad (all round DIY expert) came over and… Stuff starting dropping off, and looking damp (never a good thing!). In short, part of my house that was rendered is now naked.

I have some pretty red bricks though! So, how does that make you eat badly? I hear you ask… Well. When working, it is customary to feed the workers. Something quick and easy, so as not to interrupt the work much. So, chips and vegetable pakora for lunch. It’s also customary to provide refreshments. Which means beer. And as the kids were staying out, it meant more beer later (and a date night, but I’m going to try a ‘proper’ serious write up on that one next).

So, it’s all gone a bit awry. But I have been burning calories doing crochet (If google says it burns more calories than watching telly, I believe it!) and have finished of a couple of projects that have been hanging around:

I’m trying to make a hat right now, which is a bit of a challenge. And I want to write about what I did at the weekend, but my broadband is off (as usual!) and I can’t figure out how to link to the site on my phone. I’m sure I’ll find a way!!

We are the sleepyheads

Well, everyone but me is asleep. And that photo was actually from last night. That’s what happens when my husband drinks too much.

We’ve had an ok weekend, it rained on saturday, and husband was at work in the morning, so me and big kid built a den in my bedroom. Little kid cut his second tooth, he wasn’t impressed with the den. Yesterday we bought a £1.99 kite and flew it on the cliff tops (carefully, and away from the edge!). It was surprisingly good for a cheap kite.

Big kid stayed at his grandparents’ last night, and husband went out and drank a lot. Then came home and played human pinball (imagine drunk person bouncing off every available surface).

Today we went to an engine museum. That’s really all I knew about it till we got there. I knew it was having a steam day today, and that it was free. It turned out to be a water pumping station, built in 1869, that the water board have kept in working order to let people come and see it. It was really interesting, but a bit terrifying at the same time!! I’m a little scared of heights, some bits made me nervous.

I think it’s cool, because their isn’t much like that around anymore, it’s nice to show the kids something that works, instead of trying to explain how it would work. And a very nice man (it’s staffed by volunteers) explained how it works, I bought a leaflet, so I can show big kid.

There was a blacksmith there too, and he made a shovel, I was very impressed. It’s a beautiful building, and I wish I’d managed to get better pictures.

Husband has been working overtime recently, due me shortly being at the bit of maternity leave where your wages stop. This has given me time to have a go at some crochet again. I shall soon be overrun with random bags I never use! Tonight’s project was ‘playing with hairpin lace’, I managed 2 rows and joined them up (but you’ll have to imagine them, as it’s too dark for a photo, and everyone’s asleep).

I think I’ll try and join them! Night night folks xx

Oh. Nearly forgot to report the ‘being healthy’ progress! Went to gym Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and ached today. Been reasonably good food wise, but did have sweeties today. Bad me! Right, really off to kip now, am due an early morning wake up call from little one.

I don’t tell Facebook I’ve been to the gym

I think most people do. If my ‘friends’ on facebook are anything to go by. By ‘friends’ I mean, in large, a bunch of people I haven’t seen since I left school/college/uni/college again.

But, I can’t really be moral about that, because I always mention it here instead.

So, anyway… Guess where I’ve just been?

I’m still alive, although my arms were struggling with the weights bit. I did worse than last time, at that bit, I thought you were supposed to get better! So, I’m now sitting in the car on my inlaws’ driveway as my husband has gone into retrieve the kids (this is where they’ve been while I’ve been at the gym, as husband has been at work).

Zumba and fat class Wednesday

So, it’s Zumba time again. I’m rather unsportingly sitting writing this on my phone while I wait for class to start. I’m feeling anti social.

Today has been a bit rubbish. A lot rubbish, even. Maybe. It might get better.

Baba’s poorly eye has developed into conjunctivitis (thank god I live near a very good eye hospital) and larger child has been a big, naughty grump. And husband has been a bit of a sulky child.

Well, that’s how I feel, anyway.

I, of course, have been lovely.
(I said that’s how I feel, anyway!)

So, anyway.. Today I had a mcdonalds. Bad me! They shouldn’t have made the vegetarian option actually vegetarian! It tempts me. But after an hour at the eye hospital, thinking I’d lost my mobile and various other stressness, it just worked. But I did notice, I didn’t enjoy it as much.

Incorporating:
2 portions carbs, 1 protein, 3 fruit, 2 dairy, and salad.

I feel a bit better after a bath. Fat club went ok, I lost 2lb. There’s no class next week, something to do with the bank holiday. I’m happier this week, as I only lost 1lb the week before, but think I should be losing more than 2lb a week now I’m at the gym too. So, I need to be better behaved! I want to lose more than 4lb in the two weeks I have until I get weighed properly again.

So, I struggle to get to the gym in the right times, I called in today and bought a key so I can use the machines and run through my program at any time. This means it’ll be easier to go, in theory. I’ll still need to find a babysitter, but I’ll be able to go on a weekend and a Wednesday too (daddy day care!).

I’ve been thinking about the sugar I eat. The amount of sweets I go through increases as I get more tired. So, I just need to get poorly baba sleeping through the night and I’ll be fine. I’m sure that’ll be easy!

I started this post at Zumba, so it’s only right to tell you how it went. The first track was rubbish (it always is) and then the second got worse as it was a new routine, evidently they’d started it last week when I wasn’t there (how typical?) so I felt stupid. Then the next track came on, and not only did I remember what I was doing, I didn’t totally suck at it! So, I may actually be getting the hang of it, a bit. I was better at the cardio bit, but my legs still killed at the legs, bums and tums bit. So, I still need to keep going with the muscle building stuff.

Anyhow, poorly baba is currently asleep, but I’m sure he’ll be up soon!
